An Important Investment
Nancy Haynes is executive director of the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan. In 2006, this non-profit organization launched a capital
campaign for the renovation of a former bank branch to serve as a permanent home for the Fair Housing Center. It was the most ambitious
fundraising effort in the 25-year history of the organization. Nancy engaged The W Group to provide communication support for the campaign.
The project entailed the identification of communication strategies and tactics and the development of support materials including design
and content for a campaign brochure, a new organizational capabilities brochure, and a special campaign-edition of the Center's newsletter.
Jim also developed stationery materials incorporating the Center's new logo and location. "He helped us dream big and long-term,"
says Nancy. "He created a
flexible-use brochure for us that we will be able to utilize for a long time, an important investment in the future that many non-profits
need to make. He also helped us build on the momentum of our recent name and logo change, incorporating consistent key messages and
images - it even impacted the design of our building!"
